Leaders mistakenly believe that big changes require big behaviors. Do you want to help your team win the game? Then you've got do something big and bold. Do you want them to win the division? Then you've got to do something astonishing. Do you want to lead your team to the championship? Then you've got to do something outlandish.
A leader is someone who achieves results through the actions of others. People will do a certain amount of work on their own. Leaders justify their position only if they can increase that total amount of work.

As a leader, you have a duty to engage and inspire your people. They need your help to see the big picture, understand how they contribute, and find personal meaning in collective achievements. People work longer, tolerate more hardship, and go the extra mile when they have an inspiring self-concept of their work. Unlock this with your people, and you will all go far.
Why is that the good things that we do for people are quickly forgotten, but those sharp words we say to them are remembered forever?
Leadership is all about getting people to perform at their highest potential. Set a vision, build a team, delegate tasks, monitor performance, coach, encourage, celebrate. These are the techniques that enable you to motivate action and get people performing their best.
